My sister Kate came to stay and help out for a few weeks. Kate has skills in natural building so we decided to build a pizza oven in the backyard. We mixed up clay, sand, straw and water with our feet and literally slapped it on with our hands. It was fun and great rehab too because it forced me to use my left hand which was very difficult. I knew what I wanted my hand to do, it just moved slower and with less dexterity. It took us nearly a week of hard labour but this was the result. Dee got creative with the finishing touches and made the wave patterns you can see. The oven cooks an amazing pizza in 3 minutes!
